I teamed up with the Albury/Wodonga Cruisers motorcycle group recently and have been on a couple of rides with them. They are truly a friendly group of blokes and their partners that enjoy not only motorcycle riding but life in general with everyone have differing interests.

The usual outing involves a ride to somewhere different, a stop for lunch, then a couple of waterhole stops on the way home via the long way.

Today’s ride started in Albury with 5 people on 3 Triumph motorcycles travelling about 55kms to Beechworth, where we met up with more riders. A couple from Benalla on a Harley and a Beechworth couple riding a Triumph each. That made 9 people on 5 Triumphs and a Harley.

We rode from Beechworth, through Chiltern and Rutherglen to Yarrawonga for lunch at the Criterion Hotel putting about 90kms on the clock. What a great pub !!

We all enjoyed lunch on the outside deck/beer garden where you could look out over part of Lake Mulwala. After eating a bountiful lunch and sinking a couple of drinks, we set off on the NSW side of the Murray River to Corowa about 45kms away with the Benalla couple on the Harley heading home.

A quick drink at Corowa and we headed to Howlong, crossed the River into Victoria, down to Chiltern and then Barnawartha adding another 55kms to the trip. More drinks at Barnawartha and it was time to head for home.

We parted company with the Beechworth couple on their Triumphs and we clocked up another 35kms when we took the freeway home.

All up, the ones that started from Albury covered 280kms for the day’s ride.
